PRIDE t Three years ago, an organization was started by P.E. majors called PRIDE. lt was developed to bring these people closer together, to recruit new students to this school and into their program, to gather school spirit in the athletic department and to show people how much pride really can be found at Pacific among the students. The people of PRIDE also have many social activities through out the year such as ice-skating and skiing trips, guest speakers, a beer bust and a bottle drive. These students not only have pride in their club, but also in themselves and exhibit great promise for the future in this field.

S.A.W. The Society for Actualization of Women CS .A.W.D originated two years ago by Carolyn Howard, then the Dean of Women for Pacific University. This year it con- sisted of women students, under the direction of Hilary Burns, holding discussions and putting on programs. Discussions were primarily on the topic of the changing roles of men and women in today's society, why these changes are occurring and how to cope with these changes once they did take place. Trips have been taken to the lVIaIheur Wildlife Refuge Opti-Craft, Physician's Medical Laboratory, Reed's Nuclear Reactor and the Charles Corry Vineyards. Through the club newsletter, members were kept aware of seminars held in the Portland alrea.
