VOLLEYBALL Drive, spirit, and involvement- these and other factors gave Pacific's women volleyball team its most successful season ever. The trium hant ear concluded with a D Y tough fourth place standing in the All-North- west Tournament at Lewis and Clark College in December, competing against 10 other colleges. Coach for the spikers was Judy Sherman Sherman, who commented l really enjoyed working with this team. They are a tremen- dous group. In the tournament, the Boxers swept through the first day of competition without a loss, finishing off the University of Puget Sound, College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene. Voted most valuable player for the year was Betty Brooks. Sue Whitaker was chosen as most inspirational and Susie Evans was voted the most improved player.

SOCCER Ups and downs, sun and mud- it was a very goodfbad year for Pacific's soccer team. Hard fought victories over Oregon State fthe first time everl and University of Portland were tem- pered with losses to such teams as University of Oregon and Portland Community College. Soccer coach Bob Reece expressed some disappointments, There was no doubt that we had the talent necessary to be a league contenderp we just couldn't seem to develop it until the latter part of the season. Outstanding players included Jeff Long, Dan Stilwell, and Mike Cardoni. Also receiving praise were Farouz Fariva, Ed Nloore and Pancho Hanono. QUNQ
