DRIGHIIAUOH WEEK: SUl2VlVAl Orientation week activities started on Sunday. Septem- ber 3, with the opening convocation for parents and reception afterward in the University Center Monday through Wednesday were devoted to small group meetings with assigned R.A.'s and faculty advisors. Each day began with a sur- vival briefingf' each one on a different topic. Three main areas were covered. personal adjustments, academic adjustments. and campus activities. Wednesday closed with a gathering at Spanaway Park and that evening, visits to faculty homes. On the 10th, a reception for new students was held at Gonyea House. Parents are given a formal welcome at convocation. The destiny of mankind is not decided by material computation.
