PACIFIC SENIOR THE. SOPHOMORE CLASS HE SOPHOMORE. CLASS of Pacific High School, I927-28, consists of thirty-two jolly students. It is very unusual for the Sophomore Class to lead in en- rollment. The Freshman Class usually leads, as there is always a certain number of students who, for various reasons, drop out as the years roll by, making the classes smaller as they near their goal. This is not true, however, in all cases. ln the spring of l926 there was an exceptionally large group of eighth grade graduates. It was these students, inspired with ambition for an education, encouraged by far-sighted parents, and accom- panied by a smaller group of students from adjacent towns and rural districts, that made up the Freshman Class that fall. There were very few of these Freshmen who did not enroll as Sophomores last fall To take the places of those few who did not was an equal or slightly larger number who had secured their Freshman training elsewhere making the Sophomore Class the largest in high school On the second and fourth Mondays of every school month the Sophomores hold class meetings The purpose of these meetings is to transact any business In which the voice of the whole class might be necessary to clear up any mlsun derstandmg which might arise and to secure and maintain a closer fellowship among the students The class officers were elected democratically and the meetings are carried on the same way Several of the students of this class are successfullv carrying five subjects which Indicates ability and diligence Bearing this in mind and considering the large size of the class which reduces thelr chances to secure individual at tention from the teacher lt ns obvious that the educational ambition and the encouraging influence still retain their ef fect We are hoping they continue to do so g,,,,...
