clatlon IS extended to these two Pacitic taculty members. Mrs. Esther Fuller Mrs. Fuller is known among the students and faculty at Pacific for her advocation of a strong background of English fundamentals, her pleasantness in the classroom, and her con- sideration for the students through individual counseling. Students who have graduated from Pacific and are attending colleges and univer- sities testify to her contribution to their success. Mrs. Fuller, a native of Texas, after teaching there for several years, moved to California where she accepted a position on the faculty at San Bernardino High School. When Pacific was built she transferred to this school and is now one of the few faculty members that have taught here since Pacific's origination. She at- tracts respect for her educational background and for her organization and her directness in her teaching. Not only does one admire her for her academic accomplishments, but also for her dedication. Even though hampered by a physi- cal handicap, she has rarely missed a day of school through her 34 years of teaching. We would like to salute her as a part of the academic program and as a person in whom we have complete trust and respect. Mr. James Fotia One of the most frequent faces seen on cam- pus is that of Mr. James Fotia. By volunteering to participate in many campus activities such as assemblies, PTA meetings, decoration com- mittees, club sponsorships, and class sponsor- ships, he has become one of the most well- known teachers on the faculty. For his service to the Parent-Teacher's Association he was awarded the honor of a life-membership. He sponsors the Latin American Club and the Junior Class. Mr. Fotia, who received his Bach- elor of Science Degree from the University of Minnesota and the University of California at Riverside, has been teaching ten years, seven of which have been at Pacific. We, as students at Pacific High School, wish to salute him for his efforts and thank him for his ioviality and eagerness to support our ac- tivities. N X Y 'Qf X ATL 1 4 A 1 'Iv L , 2 ' 2:-. The diploma the School Board awards you is not a ticket for the grandstands but rather an eli- gibility rating for a place on the playing field. That you play the game of life hard and fair is a sin- cere prayer of one who was privileged to have been asso- ciated with you the past year. Wwe!! Mrs. Gertrude C. Boettcher Girls' Vice-Principal As we view the year i959-1960 in retrospect we realize, perhaps more than ever before, that all the world is a vast stage - a magnificent stage, and each of us has a part - some great, some infinitesimal - to play in life's great drama. Actors from many lands and creeds have starred in great performances on this stage during this year. In the years ahead many of you will reach similar positions of significance and leadership. All will 'play a part. Your years of educational training serve to prepare you for this role. Make sure you are ready. Keep an open mind. Nurture faith and understanding of all peoples. Once when a man was asked the key to his success, he replied, I had a friend who believed in me. We at Pacific are your friends, we too believe in you. 1-X Q Ke. K., ,Cf i 2 s. Qing
