Nielsen P CIFICA A TAFF This book and the knowledge we have gained through its production are the results of a year of planning and hard work by the annual stall. Much of the work done by these people will go unmentioned, but everyone can feel that because of his ellorts this 1959 PACIFICANA came to be. Just a few of the many who have earned special recognition are Judy Ackerman for the lettering, Carolyn Blair for the drawings. each section editor for the tre- mendous job he has done, the assistant editors for the many hours they have spent doing the countless small things which go together to form the final book. Advisor On behalf of the entire staff, I would like to express our thanks to Mr. Nielsen for his interest and encouragement and for the hours he has spent putting up with our antics and mistakes, to Mr. Painter and his photography class for their co-operation, to Mrs. Cooper for her help with the money, to the administration and the faculty for their support and co-operation, to Linda Page for her help in just about every- thing, and to Mr. Tom Bernard for his photography and his patience with us. WVe hope that this yearbook will fulfill the promise of its title in portraying a Year at Pacificf' a year which we will all remember as, through our lives, we Look to the Stars. Linda Page Bill Ward Karen Perkins Editor-in-Chief Advisor Editor-in-Chief III TIDE TAFE During my second year as editor of the HI TIDE, I have seen it grow even more to fulfill its im- portant place in the scheme of life at Pacific. Thinking always of the paper as a glass magnify- ing the reporter's words 1800 times, or once for every page published, the staff has worked to make this magnihcation worthy. of close scrutiny. The effort to be always the voice of all that is constructive in our school has made the HI TIDE, I feel, truly 'IA First Class Paper for a First Class School? LINDA PAGE EDITIIR, FIRST SEMESTER As Editor of the HI TIDE I have found a new meaning in nteamworkf' Each member of my staff have striven to make each issue of the paper a better voice of student views and activities. From the newest cub reporter to the most experienced editor the purpose is the same A to make each line of type mean something important in inter- pretation of news. Days of work and nights of more work and no sleep are all worthwhile when one sees the HI TIDE come off the press with a fresh smell of ink.
