Tennis LTHOUGH practicing constantly, the Ten- nis Team, plagued by a lack of material, has had rough going since its inception in 1949. The 1930 season saw a group of enthusiastic racqueteers take the court against far more sea- soned teams and still put up a good fight, but in a losing cause. The 1951 season though somewhat brighter, showed that there still was a need for material. The boys on the team are hoping that the coming Freshmen Class will be able to hll the bill. ll 2 Tlierc-'s always a grin when the scores are high. lntrzi-Miiral Basketball RGANIZIZD in the spring of 1950, the Pace College Intramural Basketball Tournament offers after-class relaxation for students who are unable to compete on the Varsity team. Awards are presented to the top three classes and a Most Valuable Player award is presented to the outstanding intramural athlete. Double checking the scorer. Hills NITIATED in the fall of 1948 as a club, the Rifle Team has developed into a well rounded squad ready to enter into intercollegiate rompeti- tion in the coming season. Full support has been given to the team by the college. Excellent equipment including .22 caliber Remington Targetmasters, rifle jackets, and tir- ing gloves have been a detinite advantage in help- ing the riflemen to improve their score. Fearing Team HE Pace College Fencing Team has seen con- tinuous action since its beginning in 1947. In the tour years of its existence, the team has won twenty-six matches while losing only 4. In the 1950-Sl campaign, the Fencers com- peted in four bouts, winning three of them. Their lone defeat came at the hands of Newark College of Engineering. Illness beset the team and the scheduled match with Paterson State Teachers College had to be cancelled. Pace's wins were garnered from Cooper Union, Fordham Univer- sity, and Newark-Rutgers. Coach Angelo Leto who performed brilliantly for the Fencers in his undergraduate days, as- sumed the leadership of the team when Faculty Adviser Leo H, LeMaire was recalled by the armed forces. Lawrence Barrell replaced Mr. Le- Maire as Faculty Adviser. The 1951 lfencers were: Saber menfRobert Schlicht.
