The Legend T is a well established tradition with colleges throughout the country that each yearbook staff select a slogan to serve as an inspiring force and an eventual goal. The slogan for this yearbook was coined by Editor-in-Chief Larry Dinetz when he said, There'll be a bigger and better Legend in 'SIP' That was our goal . . . that was what we would strive for in the coming months. And with our slogan in mind we went to our task early in july, 1950. By September, with a summer of productive work behind us, the goal looked easy . . . summer graduates had been photographed . . . sales were well under way . . . and the book itself had been completely planned. October, November, and December sped swiftly by. Morale was high . . . but not for long. Budget problems overtook us after Christmas, enthusiasm lagged, and when our February deadline rolled around, the situation looked hopeless. The only bright spot was Larry Gentilels divider pages. These were completed on schedule and are a credit to his fine photographic ability. Don Kruger, Dan Dineen and john Serla, Bmilzerr Mufmgef. V i Lawrence A. Dinetz Editor-in-Chief Anthony A. Russo, jr. Mmmgifzg Editor Then came March, and maybe it was the spring weather, but everyone got the urge. Copy Editor Elinor Grieg checked and re-checked proofs . . . Pace College Staff Photographer Lee Drucker cre- ated miracles getting glossies to us on time . . . Managing Editor Anthony Russo, aided by Dan Dineen, added the final touches to the Senior and Faculty Sections . . . someone lit a match under Bob QBreeZingj Ziskind, and he turned out a Sports Section that covered athletics like a blanket . . . Business Manager John Serla, assisted by Don Kruger and Howard Greenman launched a last- ditchu sales and advertising campaign that just managed to pull us out of the RED . . . James Batson, Carole Raften, jesse Levine, Lorry Schwalbe, Ronnie Marquis, Irwin Ratner, and Gene Wojciechowski leveled the mountains of detail work . . . and at last the task was over . . . the job was done. THE LEGEND HAD GONE TO BED!
