To be a debater is demanding. The season lasts for the entire year, and many practice hours and many hours of research are required to prepare debaters to meet new challenges. Through hard work the Debate Team had an excellent year. First, they were semi-finalists in the North Springs Invitational tournament. Second, they placed first in the Region 7B tournament. Third, Pace hosted its first tournament for novice debaters and won first place. Fourth, Pace placed first in state class B and placed first in the All-Class State Tournament. Fifth, the Debate Team earned the opportunity to represent Georgia in the United States Bicentennial Debate Tournament. Finally the National Forensic League recognized six debaters by presenting them with degrees during Honors Day. Truly, the Debate team displayed their superb skill and ability in the 1973- 1974 year. Coach: Mr. George Mengert. Participants: Brian Ford, Brenda Knosher, Roben Morgan, Michael Pinkerton, Jay Polstein, Rhonda Rosenberg, Roy Schwartzman, Samuel Srochi, Matt Towery, Dana Wadsworth, Jim Walsh.
