Placing in events were: Quinton Smith — first place, girl ' s spelling Randy Owen — second place, boy ' s spelling Allen Pait — first place ix)y ' s solo Robin Mills — third place girl ' s solo Nancy Canter, Shari Abrams, Mary Bradshaw — second place, home economics Jim Walsh — second place, extemporaneous speaking Other participants were: Danny Vaughan — boy ' s typing Quinton Smith — girl ' s typing Mike Pinkenon — boy ' s essay Rhonda Rosenberg — girl ' s essay David Primm, Allen Pait, Hugh Lane, and Danny Vaughan — boy ' s quartet Randy Owen — oral interpretation Randy Owen also placed first in Extemporaneous Speaking in the Galhoun Invitational Tournament.
