The Sound of Music A cast chosen through open auditions from the entire Pace community performed THE SOUND OF MUSIC at the St. John United Methodist Church. Directors Mr. Ralph Nolen and Mrs. Jane Murphy produced three oustanding shows after six weeks of rehearsal. Alan Pait directed the set construaion and lighting, and he managed the stage crew. The production was sponsored by the Pace Academy Parents ' Club.

LOWER LEFT: Girls ' Trio: Mac Christenson, Kathy Snyder, Robin Mills. Robin Mills and Allen Pait participated as vocal soloists in the State Literary Meets and in the Georgia Music Educators ' Association Music Festival. Robin and Allen each received an ' excellent ' rating at the GMEA festival, and Allen placed first in the district and second in the State Literary Meet. Robin was nominated for the Governor ' s Honors program. The Girls ' Trio received an ' excellent ' rating in the District 5 Solo and Ensemble Festival, and were contestants in the Kiwanis Kapers. The Boys ' Double Quartet earned an ' excellent ' rating in the Literary Meet and in the GMEA Festival. A Girls ' Ensemble was chosen this spring for their interest and musical ability, and they performed for the first time in the music program at the end of school. Even after the stage production was over, there were many requests for concert versions of the music. One of those performances was given at the Cambell-Stone retirement center.
