Track and Cross-Country Girls ' Varsity Track From the beginning, the Girls ' Varsity track team has been very colorful. This was the first year for the team, and their accomplishments were remarkable. They placed second in the Region 7B meet, and five girls qualified for the state meet. In the state meet Laura Lamb placed first in the shot put, setting a new state record. Julianne Johnston placed second in the shot put, and Leslie Phillips placed second in the high jump. Cross-Country The Cross-Country team had a good year in which to build a strong foundation for next year, and the team should do well in the 1974- 1975 season.
