Swimming Varsity Girls ' Swimming RIGHT: 400-yard Freestyle Relay Team. BELOW: Girls ' Varsity Swimming Team. COACH: Miss Anadora Moss. LETTERS: Lynn Thompson, Mildred McKenzie, Virginia Hemdon, Annabelle Kirkpatrick, Leslie Phillips, Mary Helen Thompson, Wendy Wilmot. PARTICIPANTS: Diane Collins, Jill Steenhuis. This year the team compiled a 4-4 record — the best ever. But there were other highlights as well. First there was an exciting 84-51 win over Westminster. Then in March the team went to the Metro Atlanta meet and to the State meet. In the Metro meet, Leslie Phillips placed 5th in the 500-yard freestyle, and Mary Helen Thompson placed 5th in the breastroke. The 200-yard medley relay team with Mary Helen Thompson, Virginia Herndon, Mildred McKenzie, and Lynn Thompson placed 4th. The 400-yard freestyle relay team placed 4th in the Metro meet and 5 th in the State meet. Diane Collins, Jill Steenhuis, and Nancy Bennett showed much promise this year as Pace resumed its diving program.

This spring a mixed doubles tennis tournament was organized within the Pace community. Andy and Lisa Rinzler were just narrowly beaten by Coach DeRosa and Betsy Garlington. Junior Varsity Boys ' Tennis In its first year of existence, the Boys ' Junior Varsity tennis team compiled a 3-2 record and finished third in their league. COACH: Mr. Neil DeRosa. PARTICIPANTS: Jim Dezell, David Harris, Wesley Medford, John Brundage, David Geldbart, Billy Girf f in, Samuel Cooper, Mark Greenberg, Kenny Orkin, Eric Abrams.

Boys ' Swimming Three of the members of this year ' s Boys ' Swimming team are shown at left. This year was the first opportunity for Pace boys to enter competitive swimming for the school. While they faced stiff competition, they progressed steadily and should do well in the future. COACH: Miss Anadora Moss. PARTICIPANTS: Joe Batey, Albert Sewell, Mike Yandell, Michael Fishman, Greg Ford, Robert Morgan, Scott Perkins, Perry McCuUen, Alan Joel. Girls ' Junior Varsity Swimming LOWER LEFT: Girls ' Junior Varsity Swimming Team. These girls participated in exhibitions during Varsity meets in addition to competing in Junior Varsity meets. After working hard to develop their strengths and skills and facing tough competition this year, they have a bright swimming future. COACH: Miss Anadora Moss.
