This spring a mixed doubles tennis tournament was organized within the Pace community. Andy and Lisa Rinzler were just narrowly beaten by Coach DeRosa and Betsy Garlington. Junior Varsity Boys ' Tennis In its first year of existence, the Boys ' Junior Varsity tennis team compiled a 3-2 record and finished third in their league. COACH: Mr. Neil DeRosa. PARTICIPANTS: Jim Dezell, David Harris, Wesley Medford, John Brundage, David Geldbart, Billy Girf f in, Samuel Cooper, Mark Greenberg, Kenny Orkin, Eric Abrams.

Varsity Boys ' Tennis The Varsity Boys ' Tennis team had an excellent year with a 7-4 record. Pace placed first in Region 7B winning number one singles, number one doubles, and number two doubles. Andy Rinzler was the singles victor, while John Steen and Reid Smith combined for the doubles victory. The season was highlighted by two victories over Lovett and a convincing win over Savannah Country Day School. The outstanding performer for the year was Andy Rinzler, who finished 5th in the State All-Classification Tournament. COACH: Mr. Neil DeRosa. LETTERMEN: Andy Rinzler, Dave Norman, Reid Smith, John Steen, Craig Lef kof f , Mike Orkin. PARTICIPANTS: Jim Woody, David Harris.

Swimming Varsity Girls ' Swimming RIGHT: 400-yard Freestyle Relay Team. BELOW: Girls ' Varsity Swimming Team. COACH: Miss Anadora Moss. LETTERS: Lynn Thompson, Mildred McKenzie, Virginia Hemdon, Annabelle Kirkpatrick, Leslie Phillips, Mary Helen Thompson, Wendy Wilmot. PARTICIPANTS: Diane Collins, Jill Steenhuis. This year the team compiled a 4-4 record — the best ever. But there were other highlights as well. First there was an exciting 84-51 win over Westminster. Then in March the team went to the Metro Atlanta meet and to the State meet. In the Metro meet, Leslie Phillips placed 5th in the 500-yard freestyle, and Mary Helen Thompson placed 5th in the breastroke. The 200-yard medley relay team with Mary Helen Thompson, Virginia Herndon, Mildred McKenzie, and Lynn Thompson placed 4th. The 400-yard freestyle relay team placed 4th in the Metro meet and 5 th in the State meet. Diane Collins, Jill Steenhuis, and Nancy Bennett showed much promise this year as Pace resumed its diving program.
