Our first major undertaking was the class play, Mumba Iumbo , which showed the luniors have an abundance of talent along that line. One of the biggest thrills was the arrival of those long awaited class rings! Weren't we careful with them those first Weeks? fThough some of the boys thought they looked better adorning their O.A.O.'S.l. We tried not to let a single scratch mar that shiny new surface. . Our senior band was well represented in the All Star Football bands at Madison last summer with Mr. Rehieldt as one oi the di' rectors in charge of one ot the two all state bands. This year the band welcomed thirty-five members into its ranks. ln September the band traveled to Ripon where they enioyed a rnost inspirational concert by the U. S. Marine Band. For its annual trip the pep band traveled to Nelcoosa ior a hotly contested basketball game. They also assisted at most ot the pep assemblies, games, zzomecomina, and the Wis- consin Centennial basketball celebration. The band was host to Merrills band, resplendent in new uniforms until the heavy rain at the tootball qame sent both bands scurrying under the stadium. Because there were so many new mem- bers, the first concert was delayed until March. Our band traveled to New London on March 8 to play a ioint concert with the New London band and played host to their band on March Q. The finale ot it was several numbers played by the massed bands of both schools. Many soloists and srriall ensembles entered the tournament at Clintonville April lU, and the entire band entered a tournament and parade contest there May l. The state contest was held May 20. The next biq event will be the Centennial celebration at the State Fair in August when some oi our senior band members will play with a tour hundred piece all state band. 6 r Clarinet Home Prim '- S3.':.r.
