2 s 1 I A place at a meet, dancing at one of OHS's dances, down the halls special way all thing-pride. Pride was familiar no students, but to faculty well. Whether it was t up as dance chaperone anging a locker door, winning first cross country or walking n one's own involve one t only to OHS nd parents as achers signing or parents at- tending a Lion football game, everyone moved one way or another to get things done. A , ' The MANE ATTRACTION at the beginning of school was football. Mov- ing down to AA did not mean weaker competition. Third year coach Jim Green commented, 'Tl enjoyed com- peting in 6AA because it was a strong district-inf fact, the strongest year ever. The Lion Regional qualwers. Band members don their Baylor shirts after the regional mar- ching contest at Baylor Stadium in Waco. State medalist. Junior Danny Sanchez receives a bronze medal at the state cross country meet in Georgetown. An encouraging word. Roger Flores's sister Raedene and niece Leslie still take a tremendous amount of pride in the Lion football program despite a 6-30 homecoming loss to Greenwood. by: Jena Allen OPENING SECTION: PRIDE ' x team played with pride and fought to the last second in every game. . Another MANE ATTRACTION was the band. With twenty seniors leading the way, they' played at halftimes, earned a trip to the regional marching contest, and realized that hard work in practice pays off. Cross country began with a bang, with the Lions qualifying runners for the regional and state meets. Boys' basketball made the post- district play-offs. Girls' varsity basket- ball won ten games, a school varsity record. At Sonora the senior girls won their first tournament trophy during their high school careers. Tuesday and Friday nights found basketball the ex- citing MANE ATTRACTION. To some the school year was just 'another year , but to others it was comprised of many MANE ATTRACTIONS.
