Galindo racks up some good yardage. 'ns Dam, another shoestrlng tackle! Valdo 6 P Braves t was third down and eleven from the Ozona seven . . . Hightower brought the Lions to the line. The Lions were tense . . . they wanted a win. With 1:53 showing on the clock, the ball was snap- ped. Hightower faded back. Wait, who was the guy way downfield? Could it be? . . . Well, of course, it was. Roger Flores had made his move and faked out the secondary once again. Hightower unloaded the most awesome pass known to man. KNO wonder they call him Slinger .l Although attempts were made to catch Roger Flores, the touchdown was scored. The rest is history. The final score was Ozona 18, lraan 15. 4. ..., , rw ,,,. However, spirits dampened as an overflow crowd witnessed the Lions suf- fer defeat at the hands of the Greenwood Rangers in the traditional football game. Hillbilly get-ups, slob dresses, 50's styles, and clashing outfits filled the school's halls during the week. Those students showing exceptional taste in attire were awarded prizes. Roger Flores and Randi Thompson captured the title of Mr. and Miss Spirit. I thought that by taking part in spirit week it would be the best way for the Lions to realize l was behind them, commented Miss Spirit Randi Thompson. One of their rewards was lighting the tradi- tional bonfire. The first of two pep rallies was hosted Thursday night where a searing fire burned a Greenwood Ranger in effigy. Then on Fri- day, everyone wore purple and gold and the second pep rally drew a large attendance as both high school and junior high cheerleaders performed at the gala event. As game time approached, spirits soared! Vickie Reagor was crowned queeng however, the football team had a tough time with Greenwood. Emotions were tried as the clock ticked away with Ozona behind 6-30. The culmination of the week's activities came as exes and current OHS students danced to the rhythm and beat provided by Dr. Toons at the homecoming dance.
