MISS RETA BALLINGER CROWNED FOOTBALL QUEEN Every Friday night in fall brought a football game. We sat in icy winds and warm breezes to watch our purple and gold teamn. The Lions didn't win many games, but they played hard and clean, as evidenced by the tie with Eden for the Glasscock Sportsmanship Award. Some people thought our student body needed a little more football spirit, that maybe we could have yelled a little louder for the Lions. Nevertheless, we loved 'em and backed 'em because they were Our Team. iw 345 :N gh., X ,4 Yxif Vlfjl. X v- ' L Reta was crowned football queen at the annual football banquet. FOOTBALL!!! We worked hard and maybe loafed a little. We laughed and had our bad moments, too. We thought, talked, read and dreamed football. We had our jokes about practice and training, about other players and the funny things that happened. We might have even joked a little when we won the Glasscock Award. But we were proud of it and of our team. It was all part ofthe 1951 football season.
