X X THE REBEL STAFF The Junior High paper had a new name this year 'The Rebel . Ceorgiana Ball was editor, assisted by George Bunger, Jr. Gail Carlitz, Carl Conklin, and Sarah Hicks saw to all the sports and Ann Paaggpgeti and Mary Lou .lohnigan wrote the gossip column. Others on the staff were Carolyn Stuart, Carol Blackstone, Martha Bailey Cecilia Cooke, Beverley Day, Susie Schneemann, Janice Spencer and Mark White. The newspapi r is sponsored by Miss Wilda Samuelson. These three boys, Phillip Witcher, Jack Mullin and Jake Young were the Junior High School safety patrol. They cut clown noon-time traffic jams and saw that the students got safely across the street. They have worked faithfully in all kinds of weather. 'Q Y' Wanda Carden and Jimmy McMullan were our representatives at the State Interscholastic League Meet in Austin. Wanda won first in district and regional and third in the state in the Senior Girls' Declamations. Jimmy won first place in the district and second place in the regional meet in Typing. He placed 12th in the state meet. Marion Mock and Pete Cisneros are our members of the All-State band. They participated in the band activities at Mineral Wells this year. Pete, a Senior, received a music scholarship to Sul Ross State Teachers College.
