2 THE OZARK WESLEYAN COLLEGE BULLETIN gditorial Progress In Million Dollar Program In the July issue of the z'Bulletin We gave first page space to the an- nouncement of the organization of the Million Dollar Program listing the names of the members of the Million Dollar Program Committee and out- lining in a general way the plans authorized by the Trustees. We are glad to report that since that time im- portant progress has been made in perfecting the organization and in the selection of a staff that Will function in -this important advance movement in the life of the college. A very important and profitable meeting was held on June 29th and all plans of the Program were very thoroughly discussed. On . July 19th another meeting was held limited to the members of the staff who are to represent the college in certain fields. Out of the discussions of these two gatherings much valuable information has been absorbed by the staff and full preparation for the important Work in hand acquired. While the month has been spent in organizing the Million Dollar Pro- gram the Vice President has not ne- glected to be on the lookout for gifts to this fund and We are happy to an- nounce that sufficient progress has been made in this direction to warrant the expectation that by the time the next Bulletin goes to press we shall have a very cheering announce- ment to make with reference to the Million Dollar Program. It is not our custom to make announcement of pledges until they are actually in the office, hence the delay in the positive announcement of progress until the next Bulletin, We also Want to repeat in this connection that the Program will bein the hands of mem- bers of the St. Louis Conference and the laymen who are closely associated with the college. No outside help is contemplated in this movement. Itis to be in every sense a home move- ment cared for by those Whose hearts are essentially in the work and who regard the future of Ozark Wesleyan College as the most vital enterprise they can serve. Chairman omenys Auxiliary if We are very happy to announce that Honorable Miss Emma Knell, Representative of Eastern District of Jasper County in the Missouri Legis- lature and a leader in all the civic life of Jasper County, has agreed to serve as chairman of the Women's. Auxil- iary of the Million Dollar Program. Miss Knell is a very busy woman, en- gaged in numerous enterprises but it is the busy peoplelin this World who have time to give to Worthy enter- prises and when Miss Knell became acquainted with the 'purpose and plan of the Million Dollar Program she agreed to give herself to it heart and soul as soon as her Work as general manager of the Ozark District Fair- the second largest fair in Missouri-is finished in August. We welcome Miss Knell most heartily to our organ- ization and feel all the more assured of success under her leadership over the women's department of our work. Church Visitation Since the July 6'Bulletin went to press the Vice President has visited the following churches: Wheaton, Malta Bend, Billings, Bolivar and Buffalo, representing the college to the congregations in these towns. We are glad to report the evidence of in- creasing interest on the part of our people in our College and the contri- butions to the Educational Fund are expected to be much larger this year than in previous years. We would also record here our appreciation of ,TA . . ... :N -1-,E aft . .N ..,.,mqsfiis-yrztirtf ein. up ,W
