Time is a great teacher, said Sandburg, and we agree, perhaps time is the onIy teacher. - a Time is fleeting, said Longfellow, and we recall how quic' ly another year has passedt Time mu thave a stop, said fShakespeare, and as our Ozark High School days draw nearer to a close, we realize this with sudden'sole.mnity.g What -have we done with our time? We have spent it in many ways-in the classrooms and on the athletic fields, working with our hands and using our minds, discussing with others, arguing with others, laughing with others . . i We have not wasted our time here. Perhaps we could have used it to better advantage, but it has not been wasted. Whatever experiences we have had, 'pleasant or unpleasant, for good or for bad, have been part of a learning experience that has been OHS, y , Cervantes said, There's a time for some things and a time for all things, a time for great things, and a timefor small things. . we have had our chances for accomplishments here at OHS. But in a broader sense ourtime is just beginning. y I ' y Time is a great' teacher. And we have many more lessons to learn. r w f si g . 1 'fe lx., : xae f+H T 2' .. ,f .- ,I 1 'ol id 1 2 Y CZARKAMC -1972 1 OZARK HIGH SCHOOL V ozAHK , Mlssounl f- 3. -1 . 7. - 1 H gH - rp-pac 1 .-r--eyes' J ,' ' i ..' .' fgi N.X ' '-1 - 1 ,-1 ' f 2 f . The faculty of Ozark High School has proved itself a powerful force for good both in tomorrow's world and today's. We are indeed fortunate to have as dedicated a faculty as we do at Ozark. Few individuals would be as well-prepared to help shape tomorrow's world. , Superintendent Clyde W. McConnell especially has served as a catalyst for productive and useful lives. Through the cooperative efforts of Superinten- dent McConnell and Ozark's school board, our student body has experienced an enlightening and rewarding school year. UD- Bill Tom Stanton and Bill Essick battle for possession of the ball against Bolivar. , gm What are the advantages of a high school basketball program? To answer this question one would do best to ask the players themselves. I know it sounds clichish, but it's team work you learn. You realize that sometimes you can accomplish more than you thought you could. The last ef- fort--you learn to make the last effort. If OHS' basketball program has provided any worthwhile ex- periences, any enjoyment, for the players or spectators, the time, money, and effort expended on it have been merited. From this standpoint, our program has been truly worthwhile. l Flogersville opponents fight hard as Don Murphy tries for points. 1 1 1 Bruce Kaufman Bull Esslck Pat Sears Denny Mills Spirited Seniors xx-M Und Denny Mills sinks another free throw. 77 ' Bill Essick loses the tip to his opponent. Student Council 8t Cabinet The purpose of a Student Council is to give today's students a taste of responsibility for themselves, therefore better preparing them for their roles in tomorrow's world. Anyone passing Room 104 during fourth hour , might wonder a little at what was going on inside. Comments drift outside into the hall: What do you mean, you lost all the sophomore individual pic- tures? She had it last, not me. The question might even arise of how anything could ever be done in the midst of such chaos. But, somehow, it does get done, somehow this book did make it from Room 104 to the printers to your hands. lf members of Journalism and its honorary society Quill 8. N Journalism students, Dennis Clinton and Della Waggoner, collaborate on yearbook pages. OHS Band and Chorus Picture this situation: You are a member of the OHS Marching Band, standing at frozen attention on the coldest day of the year in somebody's Christmas parade. You have marched for three miles up and down hills, dodging souvenirs left by horses ahead of you, getting more and more tired with each inch, and wondering why the heck you are out there freezing to death. Why indeed? Whatever the reason, 65 brave musicians managed to make it through the . year with an extremely small dropout rate.
