On Fri- day, May 14, two busloads of heavy-eyed, thick-tongued seniors departed to travel to the Scott Valley Dude Ranch near Mountain Home, Arkansas. Naturally, many of the sojourners re- peatedly questioned, Why? But, after the day that followed, the same people-who'd survived saddle sores, hiker's blisters and being thrown into the pool-were too tired and too con- tent to attempt to answer the morningts doubts. 1 A At 7 o'clock a.m., these seniors were a bit chilled during the AA wait for th Linda Hawkins pauses during a volleyball game to wave at the camera. Mortar Boards Perched and Ftobes in Place Lasting impressions and a life-time of memories are among the many things a se- nior obtains after having been successful enough to survive twelve years of school. After so many years of attending school, one is inclined to receive the responsibility of routine. Scholastic .and personal abilities assist seniors in qualifying for future jobs and college entry. A senior is faced with having to finalize many decisions after accepting a diploma. lt is evident from the scholarships and awards presented to so many OHS seniors that they have grown as individuals and, in- deed, can look forward to their lives ahead, . . .a promising destiny. i' V 1 ,....--ff , ,... gf: After many years of devoted service to the Ozark Schools, Miss Faye Andrews receives a plaque from Superintendent Clyde Mc- Connell. Gridiron Opponents Prevent OHS Scoring In End Mark Haguewood receives a 25-yard pass from Tom Stanton to set up an Ozark touchdown against Reeds Spring. Fullback Don Glidewell picks up 5 yards through the middle of Willard. f 1 Time-out co-capta l l VARSITN Woods, Mike Gr Allen Mc I i Time-out for confidential talk between Coach Larry Silvey and his co-captains, Danny Wood and Scott Turner. Football was not a successful sport, from a scoreboard view, for the Varsity Tigers during 1970. Suffering more than their fair share of injuries, the team came through the season nursing a record of O-9. The cub Tigers, however, tasted real victory as their season closed 4-1-1. The Junior Varsity team tackled four Central Ozark Conference opponents and took wins from three. The freshman football team sported a 1-4 season in their first year of COC play. They were unable to take a win from a conference contender but the spirit is instilled for a winning football career. Junior high followed in the varsity's foot- steps, claiming a 0-4 closing record. How- ever, the avid sportsmen are looking forward to high school competition. l 1 VARSITY FOOTBALL-ROW ONE: Scott Turner, Ellis Luttrull, Kim Kaufman, Steve Young, Don. A Pep Club HAS to Back Its Team All The Way . . Plus providing strong team backing, a Pep Club's duty is to encourage students to become interested in school activities. The OHS Pep Club and cheerleaders cultivate enthusiasm as well as broadening a student's interest in what is happening around him or her. In modern times, it is difficult to create a sense of caring throughout a student body, but, with the challenge at hand, the Pep Club does an excellent job! All eyes glued to the team, the Pep Club's Tiger Pride is evident. ln the fashion of many for Tiger leader's, OHS cheerleaders are a source bubbling enthusiasm.
