President Linda Grubaugh discusses election of officers for upcoming year with Sponsor June Kaufman. Former Students Inspire Future Nurses Girls interested in nursing as a profession form the Future Nurses Club at OHS. Activities of this organization are cen- tered around nursing and the medical field in general, such as voluntary work for Dr. Bob Henry, a state dentist. A spring field trip was also made possi- ble for club members to further acquaint them with this reward- ing profession. Another high- light of the year was when two former students spoke to the group about their nursing ex- periences. Foreign Exchange Z Under the supervision of Miss Jane Bruce, Spanish Club mem- bers received much honor as Viviana Martinez, foreign exchange student for Chile, visited OHS. After her 10-week stay, the club held a party in her honor as she departed to her native country. Al- so, members encountered their annual banquet at Casa Montez as they ate Spanish food. Tcmcrrow's Teachers Are Tcday's Students Future Teachers of America became the newest club at OHS as it was organi- zed for the first time this year. Affilia- ted with the national association, FTA has planned a variety of activities to en- able its members to gain insight into the teaching profession. FTA members were allowed to assist elementary instructors with their classes which was a valuable experience.
