This banquef, which was held in The gymnasium on February 2Ofh, was well affended and widely publicized. The commiffees, headed by fhe Lafin III class, were as follows: food, decorafion, enfer- fainmenf, publicify, slave fraining, and chair commiffees. The gym was lavishly decorafed wifh laurel wreafhs, large planfs, flowers, fapesfries, sfafues and a variefy of ofher fhings. The fables, which were arranged in a U-shape, were decorafed by flowers, laurel and candles. Everyone was dressed in Roman fashion. The female guesfs were elaborafely dressed in colored cosfumes and many wore fancy head- dresses. As was fhe Roman cusfom fhey wore an excessive arnounf of iewelry. The male guesfs wore.long funics wifh fancy embroidery and brighf scarfs. The freshmen, who volunfeered fheir services as slaves, wore shorf, plain funics. Simple sandals were worn by all. The dinner was fhree hours long and was served in seven courses: Firsf Course: sfuffed half-of an egg Second Course: vegefable soup and crackers Third Course: fried fish, bread, and carrofs Fourfh Course: fried chicken, beefs, and pre- served figs Fiffh Course: roasf furkey, bread, beans, and peas Sixfh Course: roasf pig, asparagus fips, cole slaw, and bread.
