The Clippers took the Prince George's County . ,....,.84 High Point Class B championship hands down, as they won .W63 Lackey . . .. all 8 games by wide margins. They were voted ing sports writers in Washington. Regular Season Record 19-O Joe Horne led the team in scoring, as he tallied an individual record of 318 points for a 16.7 average per game. He was followed closely by Bill Crowe with 277, Sonny Piper-220, Sonny Miller-168, Buddy Campbell-142, and Don Kirtley, the sixth man, with 108 points. 6' 6 Joe was the leading rebounder, while Sonny Miller led in field goal percentage and foul shot percentage with 56.71 and 70.97 respectively. The whole team, while scoring a near high school record of 1319 points, averaged 69.4 points per game, and hit on 44.3'h of their field goal tries and 60.37 of their foul shots. Although the team will lose four first-stringers, Joe Horne, Bill Crowe, Buddy Campbell, and Sonny Miller, we are looking forward to another good season. On next year's squad we should find, Sonny Piper, returning from the first team, Don Kirtley, John Bowles, Fred Ritter, Bill Tiffany, and John Hovermale, all Juniors. From the Sophomore Class we should find, Walt Trollinger, Tommy Blohm, and other members of the Junior Varsity. The J.V., by the way, posted a very respectable 14-2 record. As we go to press the Clippers have been entered in the Regional Class B Tournament at Suitland, and in the State Tournament at Richie Coliseum on the campus of Maryland University. The results of those tournaments will appear in the supplement of this book. JUNIOR VARSITY The J.V.'s turned in a very successful season, finishing up with a 14-2 record. The Little Clippers were led by Jim Peterson who dropped in 201 points in 15 games for an average of 13.4 points per'game. He was followed by Tommy Blohm with 157, and Walt Trollinger with 151. Dean Bierly and Danny Piper rounded out the first five. We will be seeing a lot more of these boys when next season rolls around. 6 Professor Wmfer 1 U' Three Bells Brlghi' eyes 'Q Jac Barrel of Fun JL fx! W V 'W- STAR WELL' U LII Man Bollom P Ol- 5? fn.
