The people starting as editors were Richard Ruggles, Arlene Aggen, Yoshie Fujita, and William Barbe. Because of the evacuation order late in April Betty Mae l-lillary took over Yoshie's page. Ably assisting the editors were Bonnie Nelson, business manager, George Murr, dis- tribution manager, Lois Seek, art editor, and Florence Pavin, exchange manager. THE band, under the guidance of Mr. Hummel, enjoyed a very successful year de- spite the curtailment of the many spring parades. As is the custom the band entertained at the home football games, giving marching demonstrations between halves. An effort made to have the band at some of the out-of-town games resulted in the trips to Santa Paula and Fillmore. At the Elks' Harvest Festival Parade the band won a cash award for precision march- ing. This helped to complete payment on the new uniforms. Consequently, the year was finished out of debt. They also played for various assemblies during the year and during Education Week, Army Day, and Flag Day. ,QA The band helped to make the Musical Revue a great success and, incident ally, set a new record.
