Coach Jack Grizzard has become one of the main springs of our school. His successes in promoting athletics and his contributions to our Mathematics Department have brought him to the top of the list of O. H. S. favorites. To those boys he has coached and to those students he has taught, Coach Grizzard is an outstanding example of a devoted educator and trusted friend. He is also a devoted Christian, a loving husband, and a doting father. To you, Coach Grizzard, in appreciation for your understanding, leadership, devotion, and achievements, we do dedicate our efforts. In the Oxford High School of 1968 there are many varied learning activities in which a student may participate. We haven't done away with the three R’s - but we have added to them. New Image of Learning And Living In the microcosm of O. H. Memories 56 Prophecy As I, the Oxford Yellow Jacket, review the class of 1968, I find that many changes have taken place in Oxford since these graduates have left school. It is now 1978 and a new high school is being erected under the supervision of construction engineer ROGER CASSON. Helping him are STANLEY BYRD, EDDY KENNEDY, JODY CHEAT-WOOD, KENNETH GARRETT, and LEE FORRESTER. Many changes have taken place in the management of the school. KEN REYNOLDS is now principal. Assisting him are DICK CROUCH and secretaries WANDA SKINNER, SHELIA McELROY, and DONNA WHITMAN. DIANNE GOSS is the librarian and BOBBI BOYLES is in charge of the Book Store. MARTY PRITCHETT is the guidance counselor. HARRIS HAND is now directing the Yellow Jacket Marching Band. KATHY BARKER is the choral director. Piano teachers added to the faculty are NANCY BALENGER and LAURA COBB. LYNN HAWKINS and SHERRY BUSBY are directing the efforts of the P. E. girls. Coaching the mighty Oxford Yellow Jacket football team are GADDYS HOWARD and GREG PETTUS. JOHN SHUNIAK is head basketball coach. Several swinging teachers have recently been added to the staff of O. H. S. SANDY HIPPS and GAIL WIGGINS are with the English Department. I see NANCY LOCKE in the Home Economics Department and SANDY LIPHAM with her Anatomy class. JAMES REEVES and GEORGE ODOM are chemistry instructors. BETH CROCKETT is teaching Biology. LINDA KINARD is teaching Economics. In the elementary school, JANICE LOTT, GLORIA POPE, and JANICE STEPHENS are doing fine jobs under the ever-watchful eye of principal RICHARD LIPHAM. Downtown, I see JAKIE COBB sitting in the bank president’s chair dictating a letter to BECKY WRIGHT. Busy tellers rushing around are BOBBIE THOMPSON, SHARRON WILLIAMS, and REGGIE HOWELL.
