PROPHECY One warm afternoon in May, I969 as I was reading the Oxford Journal I noticed the following articles about the class of l959. FRONT PAGE: Mission Xl to Mars was successful today famous Scientist, Calvin Williams, announced. News Agent, Ann Bingham, said today Congress would hear a forceful speech from Senator Harold Casey of Alabama. The famous lecturer, Tommy Adams, will render a lecture on How to Drive a School Bus at Oxford High School tomorrow. Jerry Richards, one of three owners of Delta Airlines has measles and is being cared for by a special nurse, Pat Reaves. Jimmy Lane and Carmon Turner, his partners have left town in order to escape the danger of this disease. Phyllis Wildman, our new Ambassador to France, will depart next week via iet plane to her chateau there. Government pilot, Kenneth Hicks will fly the special plane. While our newly elected President, Gene Webb, is making a goodwill tour around the wor-ld, Vice-President, Tommy Langley, will take reins in the presidential palace. Billy Chitwood and his assistant Bob Led- better have just discovered how to take the salt out of ocean water. From Senior Favorite, Annie Rob Hubbard has become the new Miss Alabama of 1969. Clifford Britton now employed at Hunts- ville, Alabama, will soon make a trip to the planet Pluto in his newly developed rocket ship. Frank Higginbotham has received the award as Disc Jockey of the Year given by the Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Paul Bright is opening a new Clinic at Coldwater, Alabama. His able assistant is Sandra Scruggs. Some of his most regular patients are the children of Joyce Deese and Flora Smith. Scientist, James McCain, has recently perfected a Youth Serum and now assures life up to IOO years. The first lady mayor in Alabama is Virginia Hudson who resides in De Armanville, Alabama. Miss Betty Bentley was voted Miss Congeniality in the Miss Possum Creek Contest. Roger Rhodes, brother-in-law of Governor Garvis Prater will leave for Moscow tomorrow for a pleasure trip. Jimmy Chitwood is now President of the How to get Caught Skipping Society. His executive secretary is Frances White. Wanda Higginbotham has iust won the title Mrs. Amer- ica. The first place runner-up is Agatha Crow. Billie Partlow has iust been elected Mother of the Year because of the wonderful iob she has done in ierking six little monsters up bythe hair of their heads. EDITORIAL PAGE: Moon People must co-operate, columnist, Kenneth Shropshire, says in his column today, or there will betrouble between us and them. CITY BRIEFS: Harris McCombs, Oxford businessman, was treated at Anniston Memorial Hospital for an iniured leg. He fell while climbing into the attic to geta suitcase for his wife. Clarence Watts was treated at Oxford Memorial Hospital yesterday because of an iniury in- curred at a thumb-wrestling match with Ronald Robinson. The famous veternarian, Kenneth John- son, will open his local Fleas Don't Bother Me office tomorrow. His head nurse will be Janice Grizzard. l26l
