Through your guidance and direction the Yellow Jackets daily plan and lay the foundation for their future living. We sincerely appreciate what you have done for us, and we feel that under the capable leadership of such men as you, we shall better plan and build a better world.

HERE IS YOUR 1947 YELLOW JACKET. THE’STAFF has chosen “the ribbon as the salient motif of this volume, for it represents the “tie-that-binds student to teacher—and teacher to student. As we fling this banner across the pages of this book, may we strive to embed the cherished memories, good fellowship, and friendliness of our SENIOR YEAR at CALHOUN COUNTY HIGH, and may this ribbon lengthen to represent a heritage that will preserve generation after generation at this school. It is the aim of the STAFF to present to you a record of the many activities during the past year—in a school which has played an active part in a thriving town—a town which has played a prominent role in the welfare of our student life by unswervingly backing all our under- takings.—So take this book and ever cherish it.
