DR -XXI-V1 IL LLL B Director Miss Gertrude Shea Digging up the Dirt was presented by the Dramatic Club December sixth It concerned. the complications brought about when two college boys working at the ranch of Roger Halleck professor of archaeology at Anvar College were accosted by Mephitis Meph1t1ca a skunk While their only clothes .were drying the boys wrapped in blankets were obllged to welcome lVI1ss Miriam Eggles an old flame of the professor with a group of young people who were coming to spend a few days at the ranch Their stay plus the theft of the professors newly discovered treasure troye by moving and excitmg The humor was provided by the antlcs of the v1ct1ms of the skunk who found it necessary to dress as Indlans to hide thexr true identity and avoid embarrassment Professor Halleck was played by Leslie Johnston and the two college boys William Loomis and Kenneth Andrews by Charles Parks and William Parkis Melda Burlingame was Mlss Eggles and her party Betty Sherman Nancy Eldredge Jane Carstairs Allan Sherman and Phylhs Grant were impersonated by Norma Chaffee Geraldine Harris Annette Rafferty Donald Daviau and Barbara Carlson respectively The Mexican greaser ably portrayed by Roland Jandron was brought to Justice by Paul Leclaire as Sheriff Carson W W Y Y , , Y 1- K Y , Y Jose Andrada, the professor's Mexican hired hand, kept the action fast . . y . . 7 1 Y 1 I ' A -4+ Page Thirty Eight
