The Band is invited each year to play at celebrations in other cities. The requirements for promotion to the Senior Band are as follows: A sufficient knowledge of rhythm and notes, and a technique in the use of specified instruments. The purpose of the Oxford High Band is to promote better understanding of music and to offer a participation in group activity.
