Jazz band is a class that is made up of stu- dents out of the concert band and which is un- der the direction of Mark Torkelson. They meet three days a week before school. The Jazz band went on tour, at- tended a workshop at Southwestern, and went to Tri-State. At the end of the year they gave a concert. The Guitar class is new this year. There were five people enrolled in it. Mr. Torkelson taught the class. Kyra and Marsha pickin’ and strummin.’ Chip and Brian alias Willie and Waylon! 26'

The Oxford Wildcat Marching Band, has really been moving, as they marched down Oxfords’ main street, for their first performance. They also boogied down to the tune of OHS, at the Hutchin- son State Fair Band Day. They were judged and they received a superior rating! Other activities included, marching at football games, and cheer- ing everyone on at the pep rallies! They held two concerts which were great. This left everyone aware of the musical talent in OHS. The band was under the new direction of Mark Torkelson. 27
