FACULTY VERNON L. CARTER B.S. . Emporia State Teachers College, Emporia. Kansas Mr. Carter teaches the manual arts. Mechanical Drawing, Blue Print Reading, Wood 1,11, and 111. He also hopes to have an Advanced Machine Drawing class. Mr. Carter spon- sors the Freshman class. WILLIAM F. WILSON B.S., M.S., K.S.T.C., Pittsburg, Additional study at S.M.T.C., Springfield Mr. Wilson is the school principal and teaches Sr. American History and Constitution. Mr. Wilson also sponsors the Sen- ior class. MRS. M.C. MONTEITH B.S., Kansas State, Manhattan. Kansas Mrs. Monteith teaches Home Economics at Oxford which in- cludes foods and sewing. She also sponsors the fashion show and the Junior class which includes the Jr. -Sr. Banquet, and the magazine sales. DONALD DAVISION B.S. , Wichita University. Wichita, Kansas Mr. Davision has been with us for five years. Besides spon- soring the Sophomore class, he teaches Jr. American His- tory, Drivers Training and is our head football and basketball coach. WENDELL MERCER B.M.E. , Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma Mr. Mercer is our music instructor at Oxford for both the Grade and High School Bands. Besides this he has lessons scheduled the remainder of the day. He has been with us for five years. VERNON EDWARDS B.A., Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas Mr. Edwards teaches typing, bookkeeping and office practice. He is our Gate Service and annual staff sponsor and is the schools guidance counselor. Besides this busy schedule Mr. Edwards is the Tennis coach.

More than ever before, the administration is aware of its obligations of service not only to the students, but to teachers, the community, the state, nation, and to education everywhere, to these conscientious hard working men who make ed- ucation possible we owe our thanks and gratitude. There is no project that the administration will not undertake within budgetary limits if it feels that improvement of its own program, or improvement of education, will result. 7

FACULTY RICHARD TREDWAY B.S., Kansas State College, Manhattan, Kansas Mr. Tredway is the Vocational Agriculture teacher at Ox- ford. He has four Ag. classes in which he conducts classroom study and shop. This is his second year with us. JACK STEFFEN B.S. , Northwestern State College, Alva, Oklahoma Mr. Steffen is our advanced mathematics teacher and is the assistant basketball and football coach is the head baseball coach. This is his second year at Oxford. Mr. Steffen comes from Antlers, Oklahoma. MRS. AUCE SELAN A. B. , Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas Mrs. Selan teaches Jr. and Sr. English as well as Dramatics and Speech classes. She also directs the Jr. and Sr. plays each year. This was Mrs. Selan's first year with us. MRS. RUTH WILUAMS B. S. , Northwestern State College, Alva, Oklahoma Besides teaching Freshman and Sophomore English courses, Mrs. Williams is our head librarian and sponsors the Kay- ettes. This was Mrs. Williams second year at Oxford. MR. IRA WHITE B.S. , Southwestern College, Winfield, Kansas This is Mr. Whites first year with us. He teaches Biology, General Math,, and Physics. Next year he will also have a chemistry class. Mr. White sponsors the Pep Club and comes from Gueda Springs, Kansas originally. ir MISS SCHMIDT Undergraduate work at Bethel College, Newton, Kansas. She obtained her Masters at Wichita University, Wichita, Kansas. She also has done advanced work at Bloomington, Indiana. Miss Schmidt teaches the High School Chorus. This was her first year at Oxford.
