Oxford lost the toss and Leon elec- ted to receive. Leon got very close to the goal line before Oxford could dig in and hold them. The first touchdown of the game came in the first quarter when Farris broke through on an off tackle smash and ran 42 yards for a touchdown. The extra point was missed. Bud Farni scored in the first quarter. Bill McCrabb drop kicked the extra point. McCrabb passed to Asper in the second quarter for a touchdown. He again passed to As- per for the extra point. The score at the half was 14 to 0. ln the third quarter, Jack Rush scored twice. Both extra points were missed. In the final quarter, Dean Lemmon and Jack Rush scored on ground plays, and Buddy Farris intercepted a Conway pass for a thirty-two yard run and! a touchdown. The game ended with a score of 44 to 0. Friday night Oxford goes to An- thony ior a non-league contest. Snake Dance: Drum major Betty Martin plan- ned the snake dance for Friday, asking' permission of all business places attended. Oxford Defeafs South Haven Oxford Kans,, Nov. 1 fSpecialJ -Oxford high maintained its.pe.n- fect record on the gridiron here last night by turning back South Haven, 37 to 0. Oxford made 14 first -downs to Z for South Haven. Yardage was 266 for Oxford, 232 for their ri- vals. Oxford made 9 passes which netted 80 yards. South Haven at- tempted three. Farni ran 50 yards in the first period for the first score. McGrabb plunged 54 yards in the second quarter for a. touchdown. Oxford took the kick off at the half, getting the ball with McCrabb run- ning 50 yards for the third score. Farris made two touchdowns in the third with McCrabb dropkick- ing for an extra point on one score. Farris ran for the final touchdown. Oxford will play Mulvane Wednesday night at Oxford for fthe Sumwick league championship. Oxford Annexes Title li By Defeating Mulvane Oxford, Kaus., Nov. 6 fSpecia1J-Oxford high school won the Sumwick league title here last night by turning back Mulvane, 13 to 7, in the championship game. It was the second consecutive league title won by Oxford with- out a defeat. Mulvane's touch- down last night was only the sec- ond scored against Oxford this season. Coach Cliff Barnhart's boys jumped into the lead last night when Rush plunged over to culml- nate a drive down the field in the first period. Extra point was miss- ed and Oxdord led, 8 to 0. Oxford threatened in the sec- ond but failed to cross the final line. MULVANE SCORES In the third Farris scored again and McCrabb passed for the extra point, to make the score 13 to 0.
