OXFORD PLACES THIRD IN SUM WICK' LEAGUE TOURNAMEN1 In the tournament held at Clear- water last wean-end in the firs- team bracket, Clearwater won first, Mulvane secondg and Oxford, third. In the second team brack- et, Mulvane won firstg' Clearwater, secondg and Oxford, third. Oxford first and second team: played their first games on Thurs- day night when they met the first and second teams from Conway Springs. In the second team game, Oxford won 53 to 16. Starlm, with 14 points, was high-p0iI1L wah for Oxford. In the first team game, Oxford won 52 to 25.. Nicholson was high point man for Oxford with 23 points. On Friday night, the Oxford sec- onds played the Mulvane seconds, Mulvane won by a score of 42-20. Lemmon and Sidener, with five points each, tied for high point man for Oxford. The Oxford first team met the Clearwater first team. Clearwater won by a score of 39- 26. Carol Nicholson .was high point man for Oxford with seven points. Saturday night both Oxford teams played for third place. 'Ifhe second team played Belle Plame and won by a score of 35-20. Lem mon was high point man with 9 points. In the first, team game, Ox ford met Valley Center and won .by a score of 34-31. Asper was high pointman for Oxford with 12 points 1. V A o N11 2 i It 4 4 . 1- g e' X ' f-we J' 849 KQYB B-ELIMINATION TEAM B-Elimination Tournament In the B-Elimination tournament held at Belle Plaine last week, Mul- vane won firstg Clearwater, second, Rose Hill, third, and Oxford, fourth In the first game of the tourna- ment on Wednesday night, Oxford played Derby and won by a score of 34-42. At the half the score was 19-14 in favor of Derby. High point man for Oxford was Farni, with 14 points, Asper, Harp and Nicholson each made 8 points and Farris 4 points. In Oxfordls second game played on Friday night against Mulvane, the latter- won by a score of 29-34. Scoring for Oxford was: Farni, 8 points, Nicholson, '75 Harp, 65 Mc- Crabb, 33 Asper and Farris each 2 points and Rhodes 1 point. In the consolation game on Sat- urday night, Rose Hill led at the end of each quartter with a half- time score of Oxford 14, Rose Hill 25, final score was Oxford 37, Rose Hill 47. Scoring for Oxford: As- per, ll points, Farni and Harp each 9 points and Nicholson and Farris each 4 points. Boys on this tournament team were Charles Farni, Bill McCrabb, Richard Harp, Dean Lemmon, Car- ol Nicholson, Womack Martin, Fred die Rhodes, Richard Asper, Wesley Totten and Buddy Farris.
