She is a fine example of what a teacher and friend should be. Not onl has she guided us, but she has also been an inspiration to many students. Her ideals, attitudes, capabilities and creativity have stimulated students on through the years. When she started her years of service at Oxford High School, she began as a music teacher. Later she changed to teaching English. As the years passed, she found that the library was not a very efficient one. Since then she has de- voted much of her time at making Oxford's library and the English department a better one. She has given all efforts and time in administering and coordinating with the students and rendering service in their activities, In thanks and appreciation for the years of service to Oxford High School, the yearbook staff is proud to dedicate the 1964 ak Leaves to you ....... Halcie M. Law. -3- , -XIV an-Q 3 Youth, contemplative and serious 'fn.. , - T L Accent On Youth Here is represented the youth of today who seeks knowledge, accepts challenges, assumes responsibilities, and searches for truth. He is endowed with many special traits--eagerness, inquis- itiveness, creativity, humor, and the joy of being alive. Exuber- ant and uninhibited, he accepts willingly his inheritance of an age of conflict. He makes no pretenses or apologies for his personality, his activity, or his thoughts. From many he elicits tears, laughter, anger and even disgust. Here is a complete active personality whose achievements in future generations can never be totally compiled, but whose achievements in this generation can be seen for many to admire. It is this generation of youth in action which truly has a rendezvous with destiny.
