SPRING Spring is coming, fresh and greeng Snow gives way to soft brown dirtg The big storm door is replaced by a screen Robins sing and sparrows chirp. Brooklets rise and flood the dell, Then laughing, fall into the pool. Upon the hill we hear the bell, Calling the children in to school Boys are out with their bats and balls Puppies romp on the soft green floor Girls are talking to their dolls The season of seasons is here once more Francis Herrick 5 CANDY Candy is a delicacy That appeals to all But it s funny seems to me Tastes better where it oughtn' In class and study hall Patricia Mayberry HATS It's fun to go out on Easter And see all the funny hats Some look like real live animals Some abound with feathers Of red and green and blue And no matter where you go They would surely spoil your View Then you'll see a basket Held on with a piece of string Why not put on real live hens And really adorn the thing? Next is a mass of fe athers And my' it is surely fine But one wouldn t be a bit surprised If it flew away any time The ladies do feel so beautiful When they get on their head att1re But personally I think some hats Look worse than a house on fire' Jean Foster '52 . . , Z .
