EXCHANGE STUDENTS Gidday! That's the typical New Zealand greeting; It's really slang for “Good day and is used regardless of the time or place. As a Rotary Exchange Student to Kaiapoi, N.Z.. from August, 1984, to July, 1985, I had many experiences: flying in a six-seater plane over glaciers, hiking thirty-two miles through magnificent native bush, skiing treeless ski fields, soaking up rays at the beach of a secluded bay on the Pacific Coast, exploring in a city built around extinct volcanoes, and the list goes on and on. Besides that, I learned a new language, discovered many unfamiliar customs and different ways of doing everyday things and made friends that helped make my year the best of my life so far. Many thanks to both the Oxford Ro- tary Club and the school district for making the program possible. Ann 3 ii s ft HELLOI My name is Ola Roos, and I'm one of the exchange students here this year. I come from Sweden, where I live in Landskrona, a city of 35,000 inhabitants. Landskrona is situat- ed on the west coast of the southern part of Sweden, just across from Denmark's capital, Copenhagen. You may wonder why I'm here, and not back in Sweden for my senior year. I've always liked to experience new things, so when my dad one day asked me if I wanted to be an exchange student, the an- swer was obvious. The last couple of weeks before I left Sweden I spent wondering if I was doing the right thing. This year has proved it to be right! I It has been the absolutely best year of my life.
