Class History CLASS OF 1957, HOW DID YOUR GARDEN GROW? . . . WITH CARE- FUL GUILDANCE TO GAY YOUNG BLADES AND PRETTY NIAIDS ALL IN A ROW. Our activities as a class really began in ,53, our Freshman year. Under a bower of varicolored autumn leaves and flowers, we gaily danced to the music of Fred Roydls orchestra at our first class affair, the Freshman Party. It was the best and last dance of itls kind to be held in the old gym. In February of ,54, we moved into a marvelous new building, a thrill and a privilege for all of us. A trip to ValleygForgegroupded out theeyear in finecstyle. .sff e e e Trips to Gettysburg, the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Zoo, and Long- wood Gardens were all included in our busy Sophomore year. In the early spring, we held our Sophomore Hop, decorated in gay pastels, under a motif of April Showers. On to the Junior year. We spent a lot of time planning that nine months. An early start with our Kernel, Commencement duties, and of course, the Junior Prom, kept us busy right up to the last moment. Our Prom took place in a delightful MCountry Gardenf' and everyone spent a merry evening dancing around the wishing well to the strains of Tommy Donahueis orchestra. Last and most eventful of all, our Senior year. For the first time in years, we have a championship basketball team to be proud of. We have been luckier than other classes in that we took an extra trip to Washiiigtorl to see the in- auguration. The Senior Play, the Senior Trip, and our goal, graduation, all lie ahead of us. Our teachers and administration have done their part in preparing us for a future in the larger, newer world that we are about to enter. Our thanks and appreciation go to them for their careful help and guidance. Kernel Editor ROSALIE MARIE HART Academic Rosalie believes that things should be done well or not at all. The very capable editor of our Kernel, she enjoys executive type jobs and can carry any responsibility gracefully. Rosalie likes to have fun, too, and can often be seen driving the crowd around in her 'thot Ford.'7 Her experiences as a nurse's aide have convinced Rosalie that nursing is definitely her career.
