'af Uaaf' For many years each graduating class chose its own class ring. Selected from many different styles, the ring becameabond among classmates--not alumni. In September 1953, the class of 1955 expressed not only its desire but the need of the school for a standard ring. After several months of hard work, Junior, Sophomore, Freshman class officers- chose a standard ring for Oxford Area High School. With the final approval of the school board the seal and ring were adopted as the standard insignia for every graduate of Oxford Area High School. Through the years our contribution to our schoolwill be worn and remembered by all. Let us wear the ring with pride in remembrance of our classmates and our Alma Mater. 2 I ! We, the Class of '55, are proud that we have graduated from Oxford Area High School. During our twelve years here, we have known many happy times. At graduation a great change will come into our lives. Suddenly, we shall no longer have the faculty to inspire us and share our responsibilities. As we look back on our school days, we shall always remember that we have been taught the incentive to reach higher goals. Our decisionsfthen, must be our own. However, we shall have as a guide the truths we have learned during ox r Q ears in school. 3 1 Ya? if ig. CLASS COLORS CLASS FLOWER Ivory and Gold Yellow Rose Pam Emerging from these honored halls We stand before life's gate, For some, the honor bells will chime Let's hurry, the future will not wait. Whatever changes time will bring As the days and years go by, Still our hearts to you will cling With the memory of Oxford High. In future years we may forget The cheers we led, the games we played, But in time to come we'll remember Most of all the friends we made. The road we'll travel lies ahead, No end is in our view, We go alone, we must not be led, No other way will do. Farewell to the school we love so wellg To our teachers inspiring, true, Who helped and guided us lest we fell, And made our path much easier, too. The gate will open, the path reveal, It may be narrow and very steep, But we alone our future seal, And all our hopes and wishes keep.
