FOREWORD To produce a Kernel of the people and events of the class of 1954 has been the aim of the staff. Into it we have put ourselves, our hopes, our joys, and our ideals with a feeling that this might be a worthy memento of our class. You alone can decide if we have ac- complished our purpose. Our only hope is that you may be able to derive as much enjoyment in reading it as the staff has had in producing it. If you do enjoy it, then the class of 1954 has been a success. 11

TO THE SEN IDRS You are the first Seniors to enter the new junior-senior high school building and the first class to graduate from this magnificent structure. You should be proud, as I am, that such a wonderful building has been constructed in the community. Let this be an incentive to each of you to build a fine character and to strive to become an outstanding citizen in the community of which you may become a part.
