T0 THE SENIOR It is with pleasure that I turn my thoughts for a short time from buildings, budgets, bonds, and buses to bring to you who are soon to graduate my hearty congratulations. It pleases me to know that you will graduate from one of the many public high schools that make up a segment of a vast educational enterprise that is unique in the world's history. It is the considered opinion of many that our system of free public schools, founded on the theories of our greatest pioneer statesmen-Washington, Franklin, and Jefferson-has been largely responsible for our enviable position among the nations of the earth. You are a fine class. You have helped substantially in giving to the entire school a wholesome quality of citizenship. You have made a good start in life. For this I commend you, your good parents, and your interested teachersg for what we do when we get our start marks our actions the rest of our lives. 1952 is a great year to graduate. You are graduating in the midst of what has been termed the greatest of all revolutions. It could well recall to our minds the beginning of Dickens famous novel on the French Revolution-11 Tale of Two Ci!1'e.r- It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was thehepoch otlincredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season ofdarkness, it was the spring 0 ope.-. In conclusion, I congratulate you again on your graduation, commend you for your fine qual- ities of character and the good beginning you have made in life.
