f l Haunted House Six weeks before anyone else even started to think about Halloween, Joseph Hadley's seventh grade art class began the final planning and con- struction on the annual Haunted l-louse. This yearls Haunted House proved to be scarier and more full of frightening friends than the years be- fore. , This year's Haunted House had something extra - live animated onsters from some unexplored Q i s f W 42, df if QV 5 1 H ,, JY' X? '7 .A plane of eerieness transformed with the aid of paper mache, chicken wire, and strangely garbed in flourescent paint. On the night before Halloween, they all marched out and crept into their new earthly abodes in the horse barn. Their intentions were clear - to scare the wits out of anyone who dared to venture into the dark barn. Any fools who dared to accept the challenge were faced with a continous row of posts in the ground with menac- ing looking lamps of clay leading to the barn. Before entering, they had to pay a small fee to the door openers who would rather think, I wonder if he'll make it through with a snicker than stop the fool before it is too late. However, in some cases of much younger participants, discretion had to be enforced. For those who had already made the commitment, it was too late to turn back. As the door was slammed on their backs, they were faced with a long dark passage. As they would muster up the courage to walk onward, a giant white creature named fly would make them regret they had come. After the fear had passed another menace loomed ahead - a large fanged creature which would jump out and expose it's bright white teet nd bl' ck mouth.
