The fumble, one of four in the opening minutes of the game, stopped the first Troian drive, For the lack of an offense, being weakened by the flu epidemic and iniuries, the Troians suffered defeat at the hands of the Jackson Vikings. 12-0 score. For the first time in years the O.H.S. homecoming was a really happy event, for the Troians triumphed in the football game. They piled up a 34-I4 margin over Lapeer. In the picture to the right, Jeff Hudson's C131 31-yard touchdown dash got the Troians started on their way to vic- tory.

In the picture at the left, Grove Holman is on his way to Owosso High's longest touchdown run in years. He went 50 yards for the Troians second score. Troions Smashed to a sudden stop by Cap- tain Jim Hasse is the Flint Beecher quarterback John Vargo 1521. He made no progress on the kickoff return after the big Troian hit him with a cross-body block. The Buc- caneers made little progress in bow- ing I8-O to the O.H.S. Troians. Driving hard for a first down is Gary Whitesell during the Lansing East- ern game. He had Lans- ing Eastern's Ron Robbe on his back, but he drove to get the first clown. Eastern won the game, 14-O. One of Owosso High's near successes in the Lansing Sexton game was this kick- off return by Gary White- sell. The sophomore half- back took a pass from Larry Gimm, a seldom used tac- tic, and was barely caught at midfield by an unidenti- fied Big Red. Lansing Sex- ton won the game, 25-0.
