Segula.. HHPHUII STRING REVULV' Tending to the furnace, asking a girl to dance, taking a Latin test may be little things to you, Mrs. Holt, but they are slip nooses in an apron string to David. This was the theme of the annual Senior play, Apron String Revolt , which was presented on November eighteenth with a capa- city crowd in attendance. The character of Mrs. Holt was perfectly played by Carol Joy, who was under a terrific strain when she discovered her pride and joy had left on a freight. Bob Segula, as David, was a typical high school boy who disliked Latin and never remembered to Hx the furnace for Mamma. The audience was kept in a gale of laughter by the wise-cracks of Miss Madden portrayed by Barbara Scarlett, who knew all the rules of bringing up chil- dren, and who, during the times of David's mysterious disappearance, :never dropped a stitch. Henry Fenstermacher, played by David Matthews, was the football coach who flew to Hendrixburg for David, and then fell in love with his mother. Other character portrayals were Geraldine Jones as Mrs. Alden, a neighbor lady, Clare' Davis, her son, J ackg Margaret Martin as Miss Martin, and Ted Taylor as Wade, CI'm Wade from the Blade J, b-ofth reporters, Lionel DeWitt, Clancey, the policeman, and Audrey Spiegel as Mrs. Lanni- gan, the housekeeper, Ca very amusing pair of loversb 5 Falice Pittenger, as Mary Lou, a neighbor girl, Scott Wilcox, the grocer boy, and Bob White as the telegraph boy. Director Miss Combellack is to be praised very highly in her work with the cast. Emma Minarik was student director. ' --19-
