CHEERLEADERS BASKETBALL AND TRACK RESULTS BASKETBALL Opening the season at Moscow with a 44-28 win, we followed it in our new gym, with Ray Holland setting a new home record of 22 points in a lopsided victory over Beth- el, but followed our first set back 4l-60 by Amelia. The first of the annual Batavia-Owens- ville games resulted in a 50-48 win for the Blackhawks which Batavia avenged later in the season, 44-54. The team won a surprise triumph of 50-37 over the Alumni. We won from Goshen 45-42, a repeat over Moscow 72-25, Felicity 60-35 and won over Fayette- ville 83-37, with Evans' new record of 32 points. Owensville lost the N. R. 33-49, but scored lopsided victories over Felicity and Goshen, 58-37, and 56-40. After suffering upsets by Bethel and N. R. a smooth work- ing Blackhawk team resumed winning ways in turning back Georgetown, 65-45, Wil- liamsburg 55-40 and Amelia 49-44 winding 34 up the season with a 50-46 win over OMI for a successful 15 wins and 5 losses for the season. TOURNAMENT: Owensville won their first two games trimming Goshen 42.-32 and sliding past N. R. 36-34 only to lose to Amelia 45-55 and then being upset by N. R. 41-45 who went on to win the tournament with our boys finishing third for the sec- ond consecutive year. FIELD AND TRACK Led by Captain Vernon Wagner the team finished their second season undefeated in dual competition only to finish as runner- up in the county meet to Batavia. The 1951 tracksters will be led by Captain Robert Evans. Letter winners last year were:V. Wagner, B. Evans, .T. Lemon, D. Workman, C. Holland, R. Byrne, and D. Ramsey.
