CLASS HISTORY In the fall of 1955 erghty erght happy go lucky adventurers sxgned a contract w1th the O.H.S company as fourth class luggage bearers for a tour mto deepest darkest Afr1ca. The safaru s head gu1des were Mr Gawer and Mr Nance. To secure farr workmg hours and proper workmg condltions for the porters the group chose Don Spurgeon and Eddxe Freeman to be thelr medlators Margaret Rutz was chosen tobe the money keeper for the safaril In case the safaru would be extermmated by the wllds of the Jungle, the company decrded tohavea Joumal kept so that the1r actions and discovenes would remaln, even 1f they were annihllated. Thls stupendous task was given to Ella Juedemann The Job of keepmg order and harmony among The translator between the safaru and the caunabilistxc natwes was J'ack1e Lane. Un.for tunately a strange native trxbe managed to capture one of the porters Marg1eDetchemendy But she found favor w1th the natlves and they crowned her for thelr queen. The next year seventy tune porters re newed themr contracts w1th the safaru. For th1s trlp the luggage bearers who were now gtven the ratmg of thlrd class chose Sarah Sneed and GUY Wacker for thelr spokesmen. Sharron Duncan was gwen the Job of keeping the funds that the safaru was accumulating. The Journal was kept by KathySassmann. Thewammgs ofthe natlves were translated by Don Spurgeon. The camp was aga1n attacked by a meander1ng trxbe, who captured Sarah Sneed and made her one of therr queen s ladres 1n wa1t1.ng Mr Nance and Mr Almhe were hlred to gtude the safaru through the treacherous Jungle Second class ratmg was glven to s1xty SIX luggage bearers that stlll possessed enougu courage and mcennve to renew thelr contracts Margaret Rutz and Jerry Scego were elected medlators for th1s Journey The safar11 s trea surer and btographer was Gene Juedemann.
