Around the time of plays if you happen to run into someone loaded down with furniture. clothes. hammers. and such, don't be alarmed. lt's just some of the crews scurrying to get ready on time. TAGORE members are divided into groups such as stage crew or property committee. Each is responsible for one part of 'the backstage preparation for plays. TACORE was organized in 1942 and has become more active each year. This year has been very successful with Mr. Bennett as advisorg Herbert Larson as presidentg ,lean Austin, secretaryg and Lois Styndl, vice president. The librarians were M. Seath, J. Prestegard, and E. Krueger. The accompanist was A. Barton. This year again twelve of the singers were selected to sing in the 1000-voice MEA chorus in the Twin Cities. Following that the chorus presented the annual fall conec-rtg next in line was the Christmas concert. ln March the chorus was featured in a spring concert. The loss at Winona was the only stumbling-block in the team's way for a share in the championship. but as it was they ended third in the standings. Numerous injuries and lack of replacements were reasons for the letdown. The lndians started the season with several ex- cellent passing combinations, namely, Cashman to Johnson and Johnson to Parsons. as well as a good ground attack from the Tn formation. The backs were not big enough for a successful power attack, but they possessed quick-opening ability which was used to advantage with the good. but not too heavy. line. The lndian pigslcinners started the season with a surprise victory over Faribault. the previous year's champs. downing the foe with a I9-0 score. Completely outplaying the Northfield Raiders in their next game. the Braves romped to a 31-0 triumph over their surprised opponent. The Owatonna team met their match in a noneonference tangle with Stillwater. the Ponies dumping the blue and silver 2l-7. Back in conference play. the lndians racked up their third Big Nine win by stopping Mankato 6-0 in a thrill-paulted Homecoming celebration. The lndian goal line was hrst crossed by a conference foe. when the Braves came away from Red Wing with a fn-fm tie. The nwilIlllilWkSu sent 0watonna's hopes for the championship spiraling by routing a mud-soaked lndian team in a 20-0 tusslv. The season closed with a 19-7 defeat at the hands of Minneapolis Central.
