A good, solid season with considerable promise for the future describes the 1974 O-E Track team. Highlights of the season included a surpris- ingly strong 2nd place finish in the league meet. O-E went into the meet in 5th place but because of the 2nd place finish, came out tied for 3rd with Swan Valley over all. New records were also established: the mile relay team of Smith, Coon, Baese, and Geig- er ran a very respectable 3:29.55 Ted Geiger broke the old high hurdle record with a 15.25 Dave Hines broke the mile record in a good time of 4:39.2 and Kirk Baese tied Rick Grusbeck's 880time of 2:01.6.
