Our main concern was to get off on the right foot ----- scholastically ----- but we also participated in some extra curricular activities such as band, football. basketball and track. In our Freshman year we did very little to raise money for our Senior Trip. As our Sophomore year rolled around. our number had decreased to 33. Mr. and Mrs. Meyer were our advisors starting in that year. but Mrs. Depew changed with them at about the half way'mark and continued as our advisor. That year we had bake sales and sold pencils to help raise money for our trip to Washington. Here it was our Junior year! We seemed to be getting closer to being Seniors all the time. We started off the year as a good-size group of 29. Mrs. Depew was our advisor and gave us valuable help in our money-raising activities.. This year we had a Junior Play, which no class had had for a number of years. We sold stationery, had a ham supper, sold caps, pennants, and candy, and had a few other money-raising activi- ties. We made part of our money for our Senior Trip: this meant we would have less to make in our Senior year. Our Senior year! Class of 1952! QWe finally made it.j We started off with 25 classmen and increased to 32 in January. We were happy indeed to find Mrs. Depew as our class advisor, through the years. Our financial activities this year included maga- zine sales. the Senior Play, candy sales, r.he Silver Tea. and some smaller activities. The Senior Trip, for which we had been saving our money, was held April 4 to 9. This trip was something we will remember the rest of our lives. We greatly appreciate what our community has done for us, to make our Senior year one of the greatest years of our lives. We wish to thank Mr. Miller. our principal, Mrs. Depew, our wonderful advisor, the faculty and the people of our community for the help and contributions they have given us. Bill Duncan - Historian CLASS PROPHE Y gk At Karl Limners Rendezvous , THE Nitery of Washington, we, the class of '52, are having our Class Retution. Karl, as you probably know, having tired of Jets has opened his own night club. He is his own best customer, and gets up early each day so that he will have longer to loaf. He has employed four of his old classmates, Fred Whimey, Donald Lewin, Wes Herminger, and Chester Goslicki. On the podium, we noticed as we entered, Fred at the mike, still playing the sweetest trumpet this side of Willard, as Donald, the featured crooner rehearsed his latest recording 'The Blabber Blues . On the red plush carpet just outside we were surprised to see Chester, the doorman, sharp as ever in a uniform so resplendent with gold and medals that even passing Marine Sergeant Bob Guthrie has saluted him, mistaking him for at least Admiral Bob Kinne, who was last heard of cruising in the vicinity of Bali in search of beautiful scenery ----- purely in the interest of Art, of course. From the rear of the club the noisy clashing of pots and pans proclaimed the creation of a new dish Petite Carne de la Henninger , fHamburg to youj at 52. 50 a service. At a nearby table, Leonard Jackson and Clyde Auble were discussing the patent rights on their latest invention that converts a decrepit bicycle to a Mercury Convertible in twenty minutes. Mrs. Royce Green fthe former Joan Haringj has just arrived after a tearful leave taking from a baseball team ---- hers and Royce's. Royce has to baby-sit on the swing shift basis while Joan is away. We thouglllit a beginner was tuning a tuba, but it was only Ralph Granger, clearing his throat. Since is trans er as Sergeant in the Air Force to Sampson, Ovid an Lodi have both dispensed with Fire Sirens. The phone just rangg it was Big Tom Martin, who will be detained for an hour or so---he promised to give Mikan some foul shooting lessons. Kay Fritts and her new Ford just flew in. She got an excellent trade in on 'Stock Car 811' at the Brewer-Marsh Garage, operated by Allen Marsh and Norman Brewer, the local motor-tycoons of Ovid. Autograph hunters are besieging Phil Pomeroy, who has given up a stage career to realize his 1ife's ambition, to manage the Royals. Near the bar we overhear Mrs. Bill Webster, the former Domia Hanson explaining, to Christine O'Connel1, that vivacious Kindergarten teacher, the Intricacies of managing oth the Webster Television Service and Bill too. Christine agrees, she manages children also. A stir at the door draws the crowd's attention to the arrival of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Chamberlain, the new Science Teacher since his discharge from the Air Force. The little Chamberlains - all five of them - have been left at home under the watchful eye of Uncle Bill. And speakingl of Bills--Here comes Bill Duncan who is now the Ag teacher at Ovid, and who teams up wit Stan MacCheyne, Lodi's leading Dairy farmer, who, after being President of our Junior and Senior class found that by feeding his Jerseys equal parts of soda and cocoa could produce a sensational Chocolate Soda. Peggy Prest and Beatrice Nivison have just arrived in a Sampson Air Force Jeep - Bea is secretary to a certain Major since her graduation from Business School, but Peggy refuses to tell who gave her the Jeep. How about it, Peggy? Bob Clarke. U. C. L. A. 's top Art teacher is wistfully eyeing the microphone on the gtatge and we hope a song or soft shoe isn't due.
